Having been a dancer in what now seems like another life, I know the importance of moving, and how it supports my work. Soon after starting my practice as a registered massage therapist in 1995, I began training in Goju Ru Karate. Several sprained fingers and a knee problem later, I got my Brown Belt. Having gained valuable knowledge about pain and its repercussions, I quit Karate and took up Yoga. I became a reflexologist and completed my training as a reflexologist and a Reiki Shinpiden in 2002. This energetic work is a tremendous complement to my clinical training as an RMT.
In 2017 I completed the Contemplative End of Life Care Program at Toronto's Institute of Traditional Medicine, and the training at Hospice Toronto. I spent a year volunteering at Toronto's Journey Home Hospice, an end of life care facility for homeless and marginally housed people, and I work privately as a Death Doula.
I have developed courses for the three levels of Reiki, and Self-Care Skills courses in Chinese Acupressure, Essential Oils, and Reflexology. I taught these groups at Toronto's Sheena's Place, a support centre for people with eating disorders (2001-2014), and for stressed out staff at the Hospital for Sick Children (2004-2009), and continue to teach Reiki.
I am an anatomy geek, a fair weather cyclist, a forever student of yoga, a periodic procrastinator, and a huge music fan.
